The CalAmp SDK is a complete OpenWrt build environment customized for LMU-55XX product lines.

Using this SDK, users can build a standalone application and later launch it to the target as an IPK file format, which is the standard OpenWrt file distribution format.

CalAmp is providing a complete set of APIs as part of the CalAmp SDK in order to allow customer EdgeApps to communicate directly to different CalAmp modules.

CalAmp APIs include a long list of functionalities:

  • Collecting vehicle bus data
  • Communicating directly with the PEG engine to receive and send notifications/triggers
  • Controlling iOS
  • Controlling sleep
  • Collecting GPS data
  • Collecting radio cellular data
  • Reading/writing accumulators
  • Sending PEG actions
  • Synchronizing with PEG for over-the-air (OTA) downloads
  • Sending and receiving user messages via LMDirect
